How Does It Work?

 

Step 1: Outline 

 
 

We start with a series of interviews by phone or in person and use these interviews to create an outline for your book, making sure to properly structure your book. We'll also make sure to set a word count target for each section of your book.

 

This takes about one month. You'll approve this outline before the next step. 

  

Step 2: Writing 

​

Using the outline and interviews, I write the content of the book in installments (typically broken down into 10,000 or 20,000 words per installment). With each installment, you help to make sure the story is coming together in the way you want, and that the style is similar to what you would say if you had written the book on your own. You’ll approve each of these installments before we move to the next one (this is called “editing as you go,” which is not available with all packages).   

 

Step 3: Editing

Once the writing is done, we go back through your book, making sure to edit everything to your specifications. This includes cleaning up any errors, as well as cutting unnecessary content to help the book "flow" better. This is called a Comprehensive Edit, which is included in every package. 

 

Step 4: Publishing on Amazon (optional) 

 

If you’ve chosen to self-publish your book on Amazon, we’ll need to format your book after the editing is done. This is a time-consuming process that must be done perfectly or Amazon won’t accept your book. Once this is completed, I handle the cover design, secure your ISBN (required to sell your book online), and put your book on Amazon for you. You can publish your book as a digital e-book, a paperback book, or both.
